a new raised bed vegetable garden
This section of our garden was always problematic, it had only a poor covering of soil over the granite rock, was waterlogged in winter and baking dry in the summer months.
Above the site was a solid rock shelf, below were our raspberry trellis's where the soil level was better, and overshadowed by wattle trees on the north side. A large dead redgum tree on the eastern side threatened to collapse and was cracked all the way to the ground, it dropped branches all the time.

We cleared the area of rocks, old wattle trees and prepared the levels for our new raised beds.
Then we installed the first of our four shiny new beds.
Also a new water supply from our existing dam water tank.
We added a new three section compost bin as well to replace our old one.
And finally the completed vegetable garden, with new raised beds, and some we built our selves out of reclaimed corrugated iron sheets to fit the space.
